Need a good and tall Jack for the X

Had to stop and help a dude jack his smaller truck up one day but because of where he was stopped, both our jacks were too low (bottle jacks) so I was wondering, where do I find a jack that is strong, sturdy AND tall, just in case.

Thanks

The easiest way I can think of if you want to use a bottle jack...put some short pieces of 4x4's in your truck under your drivers seat or somewhere to use as "blocks" to raise up the jack.

Most bottle jacks will only extend about 1' or so...

The OEM jack for the Ex works very good in a pinch...

Just a thought.

Joe.

I haven't measured yet but I am looking at one of these
Powerbuilt® 3 Ton Jack & Jack Stand - 1160455 | Tractor Supply Company I saw it TSC and have found them online. Looked like a good idea.

I have a hi-lift jack I got from 4wheelparts.com. I got the larger of the two...but it is overkill. I have used it many times. It's the old click style jack. I mount mine on my luggage rack, but kept it inside next to the spare until I got the roof rack. It works well and has plenty of reserve capacity.

I bought a 12 ton Craftsman bottle jack from Sears. It has a good height range. It worked before I put on the 4 inch lift and it still works now. I just throw it in a bag that I attach to one of the rear tie downs to keep it from sliding around or flying around in an accident.

Can you guys post some links to the exact jack so I don't get the wrong thing, should I decide to get one of those?

Thanks

I guess I misunderstood what you were looking for. I also carry a Hi Lift Jack, the Off Road Base and the Bumper Lift. That should get the height you are looking for.

Could you please show me pics and links to what you're talking about?
I'm a little dense (really).

Thanks

Do a search on the internet for "Hi Lift Jack". You'll find their website and you can view their jacks and accessories.

my jack handles are under the hood, wrapped around the radiator .

the actual bottle jack is positioned inside the rear air con unit by the rear doors on the right hand side as you look inside.

flip the two ***** and the door opens , you should find it unless a previous owner has removed it for some strange reason .

The bottle jack is there but I'm not sure what's supposed to be under the hood? THe handles is what you call the tubes used to jack it up? If so, I know where they are too but that still doesn't solve the problem of height.

WHERE do you put the hi lift jacks? I mean, will they not be touching the side of the truck when you lift it?

I thought maybe the scissor type jack would be the best for putting under the truck and for lifting it higher or maybe they're not strong enough?
