Towing with rear lift blocks

Hi I wanted to know how safe or unsafe it would be to tow a 14k gooseneck trailer if I lift my truck and use lift blocks in the rear instead of leafs?

Depends how high you want to go... no issues with 4 or 5" blocks, but not sure if I'd go higher.

I always hated how the back of the truck wanted to "jack up" (axle wrap) with blocks! These trucks axle wrap bad enough stock, so if you really use it blocks are out IMO! Plus I hated worrying about spitting a block towing a conventional (tag along) trailer. That would be hairy.

yea it would be a 4in lift. somebody offered me a lift off a 350 with axles for 1000. just wasnt sure the blockes in the rear would be good for towing

you could put traction bars on, but if you were to do that why not spend the money on leaves.

If you are using an F350 rear axle and blocks then you will be fine. My gooseneck weighs twice that when it's loaded with hay.

Your F250 should have 2" blocks from the factory, and a OBS F350 4x4 has 3 or 4" blocks from the factory, as long as you don't go bigger than 4" total you should be ok. Might want to build some traction bars for it though...

hey man i had a 4 in on my 93 and it lived on a 35 foot gooseneck, you will be fine, now on my 96 i did a 6in lift, i did spings in the front with and add a leaf, now the back is a5in lift block as well as a 2in add a leaf i had laying around, now she has lost her 2in rear block and has a 350 4in block so it has the same rake as it would stock, but lifted, when i tow it sets level, i also just got some bags for it, o and traction bars will be a must, also you never wanna go with a lift spring if you tow, your stock sping is made stonger and has a higer gw , this is comeing from skyjacker and rough country!
