nabbed a Trac-Loc at LKQ today
My brother and i went to lkq today to find a mustang rear disc brake setup to swap onto his ranger and I also stumbled upon a 97 e-250 with a trac lock rear-end.
It wasn't as cheap as I was hoping but i got it for 65 with 5 core. the diff was in excellent shape and both mine and the salvage have C clip axle's meaning they have the same splines.
for the install:
I'm going to pull the pinion also because I have a leaking seal, I'm gonna replace the pinion and carrier bearings also.
has anybody set one of these dana 60's up? I believe i can install the used crush collar to about 100ft/lbs and loctite it. and put my diffs shims on the side of the carrier and that should put everything were it needs to be, right?

I can't help you with installation and set up BUT LKQ is and can be a great source of parts like this. Sometimes they're crazy expensive, sometimes so cheap its like they're giving stuff away----best thing is they have a nationwide chain and seem to have everything somewhere.
There has to be some info online about the proper set up? I'm sure someone here has great knowledge too.
Good score BTW!
