92 F150, 302 5.0L - cranks but won't start!

hey everyone, need some opinions! I've been outside for 5 days straight just trying everything with my truck. My 92 stalled on the Gardiner Expressway a few days ago and hasn't started since. Here is a list of all the items we have replaced and things we have checked with no luck still...

-new battery

-new coil, rotor, plug wires and plugs
-timining chain
-new ignition control module
-new powertrain control module
-new fuel pressure regulator
-checked the fuel pressure
-checked for spark

there may be a few other small things we have done, but that's all I can think of so far. Any ideas? I'm so stumped! Is the engine just done? Thanks in advance everyone.

Did you try seeing if there are codes stored in the computer? If you don't have a code reader you can do it this way Ford Fuel Injection » How To Run a Self-Test One thing you didn't mention is the PIP sensor in the distributor. As far as the engine being "just done" a compression test would tell you if something broke bad enough for the engine not to start.

I would suspect the fuel pump.

You listed "checked for spark" and "checked the fuel pressure", I assume those both checked out good. I would spray some starting fluid in the throttle body to see if it runs briefly. This would narrow down the problem.

we thought possibly the fuel pump, but we tried switching tanks and starting repeatedly and still no luck. We also did a fuel pressure test. Never been this stumped before! We were thinking weak spark but we replaced the plugs, cap, rotor and coil. What else could cause a weak spark?

The stator(PIP) in the distributor, but they usually either fire strong or not at all. Don't get ahead of yourself. I would do the test I mentioned in my other post. I suspect maybe your injectors are not getting their signal.

Where are you checking for spark? Between the spark plug and the spark plug wire? Or through the spark plug wire with a timing light. That's the final destination and the only place to do a valid test in my opinion.

i can see the valve position sensor fault may be your problem...if it doesnt read where the valves are then it wont fire right..try a compression check??

did the compression test, all cylinders are fine. Tried the starter fluid and still no start, which leads me to believe it's a weak spark again. Thoughts??

Sounds silly but did you check the fuses?

Also the timing chain may have jump a tooth.

OP mentions a new timing chain so that can't be it.

Yes I noticed that replaced after I posted - I edit it to remove it but I guess it did not take.

After reading his error codes I would be inclined to think he needs to check the grounds, wiring and computer. The codes are too diverse to be anything simple - not that rebuilding the entire motor is simple.

Not to change the topic but nice truck. Did you replace the seat covers and if you did where - mine need replacing. Thanks
