Roll Over Valve Clarification - 1950 F1
Hi Guys,
I've got a 1950 Ford F1 where we've done the 1970 Mustang tank replacement & we have it out back now in between the frames. One question has come up - If we use a Venting Gas Cap do we need the Rollover Vent Valve as well? Do they serve the same purpose? In a collision is it safe to have a Venting Gas cap back there? I'm curious what others have done. I also would like to know if I have to keep the vent hose up higher than the tank - Where do you run the thing? I've looked at numerous tank installs here and I'm not sure there is consensus on what to do.
Thx

On my stock tank, I have an unvented cap, so the roll over valve is the tank vent. Run a line from the valve to a place lower than the tank so if the truck flips the hose end is higher than the tank (belt and suspenders). Place a filter on the end, a gas filter will do, so you not sucking dirty air into the tank.

I'm not too confident in my picture posting abilities but I'll give it a shot.
