97-f250 starting problems

Hey guys, new member here so be gentle. I had to change out my fuel/water seperator. Now I cannot get the truck to start. I still have the two pronged male wiring connector unplugged. What is it for? The truck was taken apart for several weeks before the new part was purchased and I guess I forgot where the connector goes. I filled the new unit with diesel. I also have tried to crank it a half dozen times. it does not even try to start. Does it make a difference if I crank it or just key cycle it the same amount of times as I have read here? I am wanting to get it running to pull it in the shop and install my newly purchased D60. Thanks.
