Middle roll bar legs are now tied to the frame. Plan on the front legs of the roll cage and the home made rock sliders, and tie all that into together.

Something like the last 3 pics?

Also going to change the front bumper to match the rear.

Yes I am still working the frame tie in... I am not done with it. I am going to cut the rockers and make the sliders tie in to the frame like the blue bronco set up, but trying to catch the front cage down pipes in the process.

I might just boat side it from the bottom of the rocker and run 1/8 sheets to the bottom of the frame. And use a old F250 trans cross member as a trans out put skid shield.

Also need to put a drag pan on the aft fuel tank, I ditched the aux under the dvrs seat.

Tool boxes repaired from being made to fit around the old roll bar and back in. Ditched the rear bench and going with some Super Cab jump seats.

Here is what needs cut out of the dvrs side fenderwell tool box (for a full size truck) to make them fit.

And no tailgate of course, but great way to get some storage. I can fit a 5 gal military gas can and a spare set of complete front and rear d/s...and a ton of other stuff....

I was "test driving" the 2 small ammo boxes, they are not going to be used.

Got the old front bumper off and about ready with the square tubing that is going inside the frame to be welded to the new front bumper, it will look just like the rear one.

Yes the bumper/frame/body lines are off, it has had a hard life and been twisted a few times and more hard times are coming. It has a 1" spacer?? on the dvrs side and a worn out factory rubber one on the passenger side. I though about pulling the 1" spacer but the frame is tweaked already, so there is no real fixing it.

Got the rear bumper set up with a double lock pin for the receiver winch plate and got the front bumper welded on. Will do the double pin trick on it too, also made some reinforcement passes on the front and rear "D" rings.

Kicked around a "stinger" idea and decided to kick it into the corner of the shop for now, untill I can get some other angles bent up. Also had to relocate the spare tire mount a little higher up, it hit the top of the winch being so low.

Yes I have to clean up the bottom of the winch plate, it had a alternate trailer mount leg that will be a snag hazard now. So now I have to redo the trailer winch mount set up.

Just have to wire the Bronco with front and rear QD's for the power.

continued developments

Movin fast now, bet ur a fast tracker when not playin too (@ work).

Beefin up those D rings looks like for pullin others out, big red looks
'fully capable' now!

I thought those full sz tool boxes reduced departure angel but the pic show that's not so, thanks.
Now that I know the extra few inches can still work I'd like to look-in on that idea for mine (log chain, chain saw, etc)...

They are standard full size pick up steel fenderwell tool boxes. I got mine off the Craigslist for 50 bucks for both (sweet deal) IMO, compared to the below prices. They are 48" x 8", 38 " might work with a tailgate? Here they are made by Delta.http://www.sears.com/delta-850000d-4...&blockType=G23

Wheel Well Tool Boxes

Wheel Well Tool Boxes - Truck Customizers

Wheel Well Truck Boxes | Truck Boxes: Crossbed Truck Boxes, Underbody Truck Boxes + More | Truck Boxes | Northern Tool + Equipment

Test driving it around the back 40 today I managed to plug the front receiver full of dirt. I am coming up with a steel plug or mini bumper skid plate to keep it ready to take the winch.

If that winch/receiver plate was not so heavy (est 100+ lbs) I would on mounted a holder/receiver to the middle of the spare tire mount (old axle face) to carry it out of harms way.

But that would be way to high to get it up in there by myself, so it's going to be hanging off one end or the other.

I like what u have in the "bronk storage" jpeg. I wuz thinkin of usin the wagon cap w/o the windows and placing doors that raise up (like on some p/u truck caps) with a storage box inside them where the windows were originally. Still have most the bed to store things...

Cool idea on the cap storage, but you loose it when you go topless.

Seen this? http://www.dufftuff.com/Upper_Quarte...nco_p/7150.htm

NO ONE with any axle advice or opinions?

Sorry, no. I put higher strength axle shafts in my Bronco's front axle, but it was a while ago and I don't remember specifically what they were.

My opinion is that most of what's out there is pretty good. Some might be a little stronger, or a little cheaper than others. But I don't think you can go far wrong with much of anything.

Since I am getting it as a 3nd or 4th hand "project" I am going off what I was told by the last to owners and by what I have figured out.

Best I can figure out it has a D44 with dish brakes, TRE (tie rod flip?) steering mod, front locker along with the F150 steering box mod and sag p/s pump.

I just had the passenger side spit the u joint cups out when doing a little wheeling. So I am going to pull the axles count the splines and see what I need to get.

Sound like a good plan? Thanks for the advice.

Sounds like a plan to me. Fortunately my Bronco was pretty much stock when I got it (cut fenders, 33" tires, a 6" lift, converted to power steering and floor shift about the only mods). So I didn't have any trouble getting axle shafts that dropped right in. I don't know how many variables there are, but I wouldn't think you'd have too much trouble getting axle shafts that'll fit.

By the way, my Bronco still has an open front diff. As long as it stays that way I don't think there was any need for me to upgrade the axle shafts. You already broke something so upgrading seems like it makes sense for you. But for anyone else following along, unless you've had trouble, are running a front locker, or have a really fat right foot, you can probably save yourself some coin by sticking with the stock shafts.
