UPS truck??

In looking at this wiki photo, it has the 6 lug pattern with 6 handhole wheels. These are different than the other UPS vans with the 8 lug, or 6 lug with the more solid face. So my question is, what make is this one pictured?

That one is a GMC P6. Notice the flat plate front hub covers. Probably has a 292 straight 6 or a 4.3L V-6.

OK, thanks. According to Wiki, it says Ford also provided a chassis. Any idea which one that is?

In short, no. 6 lug vs 5.

In a future possible approach, I may go with a frame swap to the Ford chassis like that of the UPS truck.

The old ford chassis were used on the p600 same brake and clutch pedals as the 53-56 ford trucks. The six lug 5 hole wheels were standard for the p600,p800,p1000 ... the standard tire was the 9r22.5

A lot of the newer UPS 6 lug trucks are coming from Hino and then being built by Morgan Olsen.

P500 = P Series Parcel Delivery (no such thing as a P600) chassis used 1953/75, replaced by the E350 Cut-Away chassis in 1976.

When UPS stopped using the E350 chassis, I dunno.

Ken - six lug wheels on these, if they are not metric, would have a 8.75" bolt circle, not 7.25". Stu

sorry for the confussion, p600 is a UPS # not a FORD #
p600 in UPS lingo means a package car with 600 cf. of package space .

Ken - The other thing that limits you to the wheels I've previously recommended is the stud/nut design and wheel mounting design. Your truck has 5/8" x 18 tpi studs/nuts while the bigger trucks used 3/4" x 16 tpi studs/nuts. Also, your truck used what's called a "coined in/out" wheel mounting that uses "90° conical faced nuts". The big trucks with stud piloted mounts used ball seat nuts. Stu

1953/66 F350's have 6 lug wheels on a 7.25" bolt circle. These wheels were also used on some P500's.
