Yet another new guy......

I just traded my CJ 7 for this '62 F-100. It has a 400m with a C-6 tranny and front end from a 79 bronco. Bronco II seats, and very minimal rust for its age. I plan on fixing a few things here and there and using it for an off-road toy. I'm not sure who got the better deal, but I like the truck alot.

This was my CJ...

Agree on the polished grill, but then I would have to chrome the bumper.

Well; it depends on where one whats to goe with the offroad sport. Seems both got a good deal! Your Cj probably had more $ invested for sure!
Also welcome aboard! Your new truck is sport'in a 66 facial piece!
If you guys where near me I would of been interested in trading my 76 Highboy for that Slick.

Did not know it was a 66 clip. The CJ was fun, but I don't see this truck lifting the front wheels 3 feet in the air though. It is definatly a more practical ride though. The Jeep had a 289 with dual 600's. It would go through fuel almost as fast as it went through mud.

Post your Warranty data numbers' if a 62 model it will be a data plate on the inside of your glove box door; or 64-66 style on the inside of your driver door. Having a different front grille doesn't change much in my opinion; just though I would let you know!
Love the truck more than the jeep anyday!!!!

Appears to me this is a 1965 front end though 61 - 64 had the parking lights in the grill, not above the headlights.

I will try to get numbers from the actual truck when I get home tonight. Keep the comments coming though. I would like to know everything I can about this truck.

Welcome to FTE!!!!! Yea but remember the mexican version were different from the US versions so it might be correct from being from down there. How much would it have cost in US $ back then. An what all are you going to change on it?

Heck regardless if 62 or 66; Its a sharp looking truck; I can't see a oem across the border, having this type front clip; but after 48 years anything possible!

I don't know what the exchange rate was back then.
I am not going to change a lot. Maybe lower gears to offset the larger tires. Dual exhaust, but I dont know how it will end up. Out the rear, behind the rear wheel, in front of the rear wheel. I know it lacks a lot of low end with 3.73 gears, 38" tires and no exhaust pipes. I plan to redo the wood in the bed as well. Not a kit, but I think with a little "creative router-ing" I should be able to make it look good. All of the hardware is there, just the wood is rotted in a couple of places.
