Thanks guys. My dad bought this truck new. I took my drivers test in it. I inherited it in '96 and restored it to the current condition.

Ed, if you are considering a new Sport Trac, you probably will want to get one pretty soon. My mom just bought one to go right alongside her Edge and they had a heck of a time locating one in the color she wanted because Ford is not making them anymore. She was lucky they found a new one in the color she wanted somewhere in Texas.

Too bad though because a 2010 Ranger Sport, 2WD, 4 litre Supercab could be had for around $13K Cdn. back in September - good cheap transportation.

The Sport Trac has been killed due to it being based off of the Ford Explorer. When the new Ford Explorer came out they killed the Sport Trac & there will be no F100 it has been killed due to the price being so close to the F150. So the F150 will be the only entry level truck when the Ford Ranger dies out in bout 2011-2012 model year. Also look under Thread 2011 F100 under Newer light duty trucks on the main FTE page.

I was reading an article some time ago where GM was contemplating the Colorado / Canyon twins for the same reasons that Ford is killing the Ranger. Initial cost and MPG's are way too close to a half ton strippy while it's capabilities fall a little short.
This will either rev up F-150 sales or it will hurt Ford in the long run.

Man, thanks for posting up those pics. I am at home sick as a dog and that little story about having that truck in your family all these years surely put a smile on my face. That truck is gorgeous. What motor is in that? 360 or a 390?
