Where did you get it? Been seeing them on newer Ford's, and I hear ya, took the truck out for a spin and she'll get to Operating temps...but cool's down quickly.

We have to use one as I'd suspect most people in this country do. My cooling system is all brand new with Motorcraft parts and it's just too darn cold now. It will open the thermostat without the cover then drop right back to the bottom and stay there. The heater won't even try to work without it. I just made one a couple weeks ago out of some goat blankets and double sided carpet tape on an old cracked grill I had. Now my wifes feet will stay warm and that is a good thing.

yea, the inserts are no longer made...at least what I searched on Google...Cabela's has the Fabric style covers...but feedback on who they attach to the grill/area was somewhat lacking in security. ...I think remembering someone posting that they take their fan off? True?

Try a search for winter fronts.

1997 Ford F350 Cold Grille Fronts | Fia Winter Front and Bug Screens | TonnoCover.Com

Lund has about dropped the pre 1999 model trucks.

That isn't a bad idea...might save a finger or two, as much as we are poking around, checking stuff...

If you have so heater issues try to clean your heater core with CLR, disconect it then put a couple off short hoses on it and fill the core with CLR and let it soak for about 45 min. I did two vehicles last weak and it made a big inprovement in the heater performance. I do my wifes car every winter.

I run a grill cover on both my PSD's. I think they work great. I got the new one (new to me truck) through autoanything.com and it is a Fia. It looks exactly like the one I got several years ago from Ford. Even comes with a summer screen to keep out the bugs.
