Talking 50 F2 park lights Ho Ho Ho

Santa brought me from classic haulers a brand new pair of park lights for my 50 F2. They even come with light bulb and two wire leads for park and turn signal.

Being a F2 newbie I was looking for any tips or thoughts on replacing them as i have never done it before.

Are you looking for wiring help, or mounting help? https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...il-lights.html for wiring.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...-question.html for mounting. (not the same thread I was looking for)

EDIT: I see you were talking about the front, not the rear, lol.

Actually I haven't even taken one apart yet so I guess the answer would be mounting help. I know that I ones I have been "fixed" to look right but he told me they were messed up. Thats why I got replacements. if it is a straight unscrew and the replace I can handle that just looking for any ibnsight anyone wanted to share......

The park lights will be the same as stock. What it does is give you turn signals in the same 1157 bulb. The second wire goes to the turn signal harness and the housing still grounds to the body.

You will need an aftermarket turn signal if you don't have one installed already. Signal Stat is pretty common and comes with directions.

Thanks mtflat, I am using an electronic turnsignal. What I am looking for is the mechanical how to. for example i am assuming i have to pull the panel that holds the hood pin to gain access to the lights? Any tips ot tricks would be appreciated.

It sounds like you have new housings/buckets to install. When I disassembled all those pieces I left the parking light buckets attached to the grill panel. I'd have to look later, but IIRC they're riveted to the grill panel. If you can drill out the rivets you shouldn't have to remove the grill panel.

Removing the latch plate would make access easier, but there is nothing that physically connects the latch plate to the buckets so it isn't really necessary.

I'd start by taking the stock lights apart and see what you get into. Keep in mind I'm working off 11 year old memories here : )

The park lamp housings should be bolted to the grille. The top grille bar is also bolted to both of the park lamp housings. You should be able to unbolt and remove the top bar with the housings and then re-bolt the new ones in place and bolt back into the grille. The rest of the wiring is as mtflat said.
