Mileage
My 2011 F150 is averaging over 19 MPG with 3800 miles on the truck with a best of 19.8. My truck is an extended cab with the 3.31 rearend.
I have modded my truck with a custom cat back exhaust with a Flowpro turbo muffler, K&N panel filter, and a SCT custom tune from 5 Star for 87 octane. I always have over 1000 LBS in the truck as I am using it as a service truck.
I have checked and rechecked the mileage by hand against the computer and the computer is dead on in these new trucks!!

The economy of the new 5.0 sounds really good. I would like to hear some reviews from people towing some travel trailers and such.
A new truck is in my future, likely when the '12's come out, and I need something capable of towing a travel trailer @ approximately 7000 lbs. I know the "book" says the 5.0 would do it fine but I'd like to hear some real world reviews.

If it is the 3.73 gearing, any idea what it would cost to change it to a lower ratio?
Based on the reports (which are pretty universal) that the 3.7 is horrible, that might be the low hanging fruit for the tuner market. We've got a problem that people are going to be looking to spend money on to fix. ( I already called my dealer and asked if I brought this truck and $2,000 back to the dealership, could I have my trade in back ... they said ... nope )

I don't think you will. I towed a 23' 6" wake boat @ 7000lb w/ my 2009 5.4 with no problem. My 5.0 pulls alot harder. So far only towed a 12' enclosed trailer loaded @ about 3000lb. It didn't know it was back there & got 13 mpg in high wind & hills. I'll hook up the boat before long.

Thanks for the input fuzzy..I may order the 5.0 , F150 and get trailer package, as I said my trialer is 32 ft long inline(7ft wide V nose) that I haul snowmobiles, Fully loaded is about 4500#. I think it should do the job for a half dozen time i pull it..The rest of the time back and forth to work I may enjoy 18 mpg if all those facts are right...
