Until I saw this I thought my class 8 mechanic friend was lying. He referenced the old Macks like the B61 with manual steering. You had to reach between the steering wheel spokes to shift!
My father had a White with 3 sticks back in the 70's.
None of the shift levers were anywhere near that long though.
Someone broke the part the shifter handle goes into, inside the column, looks like pot metal... shifter collar? Mechanic thinks it may be easier to replace whole steering column... Input please...

The problem is going to be finding one. There weren't that many around when they were new. Let alone over 30 years later.
