Autolite Spark Plugs and Coil Problems

New to the forum. I am currently in the process of replacing my original spark plugs on my 2005 f-150 5.4l v8, broke three of the 8 s.plugs off in the engine. This isn't the topic in mind though. Before I started I did my research, I read in different forums about spark break off problems, which ones to get and how to do it.

I read that Autolite and Motocraft are basically the same in regards to spark plugs for my vehicle, so I bought Autolite. Now halfway through the replacement a mechanic friend tells me that Autolite causes coil problems in my model and that i should have gotten different spark plugs.

So heres my questions, Has anybody had this problem with Autolite plugs and their coils? I'm at 105k miles and only gonna hold on to the truck for probably another 70-90k miles, should I replace the coils anyway or not worry about it?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Just my 2 cents! I've used mainly autolite plugs, have had issues & replaced coils w / new. Most of the time that was not the problem! THE little boots are 90% of the problem. SO IF you put in new plugs, put new boots on all of them. PS For what it's worth use genuine ford boots, they come in pkg. of 2. Not near exspesive either!!!

the only time ive seen autolite cause problems is on the older generation of the 5.4 and 4.6 moduler motors. (think late 90s, early 2000s). my uncle replaced his daughters plugs in her 06 or 07 with autolite and nary a problem.
