ford not what it used to be

big f-150 fan -very disapointed with 2010 fx2 supercab 5.4 6 speed 3.55, leather, 20's 35000$ sticker. had a 95 xlt 4.9, 2000xlt 4.6, 2005 xlt 5.4. and loved all of them. just traded the 05 for this pile of junk. sad to say you need to really test drive these brand new trucks before buying. in drive slowly letting the truck roll with foot on brake barely rolling it shakes pretty bad.(they say it has to do with being a 3 valve). at 30 it hits 5th gear and 37 it hits 6th. and truck rumbles when at the bottom of these gears. ( like having a manual and starting out in third gear). also had 2 paint defects. has 5000 miles and been in the shop 10 times. with every new flash program and no help. filed lemon and ford gave me 3000$. my buddie bought the identical truck a month later. and it runs perfect!! hopefully they come up with a fix and not call this a normal characteristic. if they dont ill be looking into the 11 with new engine and selectishift tranny. the truck looks real nice and that sold me.

Ok. Im a newbie. I feel your pain. I just traded in a dodge 2500 for a used 2010 f-150. Got tranny problems myself. its a six speed and the dealers are giving me the bs about flashing the trans, still no different. I guess my trans has ADD as it isnt learning a thing. Im stuck. I will be the biggest pain in the *** ford has ever known. promise..........

just bring it in enough and when you had enough of that call an attorney and get your 3000$ and trade it in or live with it. prices went way up and quality went way down. lemon law is easy in some states. they paid me as an unsatified customer and would'nt give me another truck cause MOST all of them do it. i dont even want the truck.

Hmm, let's evaluate the facts:
First, we have "junior1113" who signed up this month and has two posts to his name - both in this thread.
Then, we have "charlesmd" who also signed up this month and has one post to his name - in this thread.

Both have suspiciously similar writing styles.

Something smells - like a troll...

Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles

I have linked Virginia's lemon law from the DMV page. I would lay down my money that Virginia's law is very similar to the rest of the states.

I'm calling BS on these two posts. TVSJR is absolutely correct. Both posts were written in 2nd grade english.

I would encourage anyone reading these first two posts to disregard, just my humble opinion.

You are correct, Ford is not what it used to be- they are a whole lot better. Quality is up, so are sales and the stock price. To make it even better the first ecoboosts are supposed to be made around Jan 10.

As to the two posters above that bashed Ford. You do know that the moderator can track your IP address and see if they come from the same place or area?

[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][IMG][/IMG]URL=http://s710.photobucket.com/albums/ww108/JUNIOR1113/?action=view&current=1100.jpg]wow! did'nt know i was going to get bashed for posting on this forum. yes it is my first post because it is my first problem with a ford. i am 28 and been a residential contractor in tampa for 6 yrs. worked in construction since 16. i dont type a whole lot and didnt realize this was a test. anyway, trucks are a part of my everyday life and i am upset about this purchase. sorry for comin on here and telling it like it is. you really should test drive these before buying because ther are ones that run rough. i got one wanna go for a ride i'll show you if your in the tampa area. nothings ever going to be like my 95 300. but should at least be problem free. i will not stop buying f150's because i got 1 bad one. like i said just looking out for all who are in the market. pic of the 05, 2010, mine next to my buddies. these guys are crazy to believe every f150 is perfect. lol

They are not the same IP address and lets keep this civil.

My brother in-law is a machinist and his shop has seen the poorly made torque converters that Ford is having build in Mexico that come in new with metal shavings and such left in them. This can in turn, destroy a transmission.
Ford builds a quality vehicle, but not every one of them is perfect. Most parts are outsourced and may not always be the best quality.

Don't bash someone because they tell the truth about having problems, it can happen to any new vehicle. All dealers are not created equal either so it's not the owners fault.

I had issues with my 01 F150 that I had too, they were fixed and it was a good truck.

Jimmy, agreed and well said sir. But, this person came here bashing our trucks right from jump street. These types of posts are sad but true in the mass produced automotive world. It puts everyone on the defense right away.

The thread could have started off a little different and perhaps he wouldn't have been handled the way he was.

Junior, sorry if I offended you in any way. Welcome to FTE. If I may offer a little tidbit on posting info.

Try to separate your paragraphs a little and try to use more or correct punctuation. It makes the post much easier to read. No, this is not English class or a test to see who can spell or write the best, but it will help you get your point across much easier.

After re-reading your post, it does sound like you are a genuine Ford man who had some bad luck. I hope all things Ford trucks works out for you in the future and I hope you stay around and provide some very useful input for those of us on the edge of our seats waiting for the right time to buy.
