2011 Expedition/Navigator Rear Axle info
The Mother in Law is looking to replace her 2000 Expedition with a 2011. Dealer tells her that Limited Slip is not available in the Expedition (which the brochure seems to confirm) but that it is available in a Navigator. The Lincoln brochure doesnt say anything about Limited Slip.
So my question is why is the limited slip not available on the Expedition? Because of the RSC?
Doesnt seem to make any difference if it is 4X2 or 4X4 although she doesnt want 4X4.
Thanks
Bill

yeah...if you ever figure out that mess, please let us all know.
A LS with the gears would be a great addition in my eyes when you consider that these vehicles are marketed as Family Tow vehicles.
we've discussed the no LS against RSC before, but never reached any conclusions. I personally don't think they matter to each other. The 2009 F-150 has the RSC crap and it comes with a Locker or a LS axle.
I'm more inclined to think that with the independant rear axle, that Ford left the LS out to prevent breaking a half-shaft. I know the Cobra guys have issues with that and their LS...maybe the Expy + the weight + 300 HP makes things go pop?

Thanks, from what I have been able to dig up elsewhere, the electronic traction control does what needs to be done in place of the LS.
Guess I would like to see a video of a LS Expedition vs an Electronic Expedition on a slippery boat ramp.
You wouldnt want to trade Pearl for Marietta for the next couple of weeks would you?
