oh and goes away usually within 30 seconds or so if warm outside longer if cold...and faster if you just start driving it

I would imagine that it is only the cam chain tensioners and maybe a bit too heavy motor oil that requires a little more time to build pressure in the system. If you are running a heavier weight/viscosity that specified by Ford I suggest that you go to the recommended viscosity at your next oil change or even to a 5W20 if your truck is supposed to have 5W30 oil. I prefer 5W20 Mobil 1 in all my vehicles.

 

Most likely an exhaust manifold gasket. The passenger side one seems more prone to failure. If it is the gasket, it will get worse over time.
