Hi folks, Although I have not posted, I have been reading for quite a while. Its been a while though. Anyway, I am now in the midst of the resto of my 47, which was my dads and grandfathers. I drove it in high school in the early 70s which is when it was parked . The 6 cyl was rebuilt. Upon start up no oil pressure. If I back feed it throught the pressure guage port, its 100%. shut it down 20 minutes and it wont pick up. I pulled the pump and had a expert look at it. He thought the gasket was possibly damaged when installed. I cut a new one since i could not find one and has the same problem. The pump has new gears in it also. Does anyone know about these pumps. It is a g series which has the distributor on the lower right front of the engine, the pump housing is also the front main bearing block. I checked the relief valve on the side and everything seems fine, as it was also new. Im at a loss and would like to keep the truck original, but a flathead 8 is not out of the question. I wil never sell it so value is not an issue. Any thoughts??
