Drop Pitman Arm

I've got a 77 F150 4x4. The PO installed what looks like a rancho 4" lift. Coils up front. My center link has a good angle to it, so the bushings for the stabilizer shock are at an angle and not parallel to the shock. It makes the bushings wear quickly. Do you think I should get a drop pitman arm to level out the center link?

Do you still have the stock 1977 style steering linkage? If so there is not drop pitman arm available (that I have seen). You will need to swap over to the 78/79 style and get a drop pitman for a 78/79. I have all the parts to do this to my 1977 F-150 4x4 but have not getten around to installing them.

Do I need to do anything special to make the updated linkage fit? Bolt-in?

It's a bolt in. You just need the drop pitman and all steering linkage for a 78/79 truck. There are lots of threads on the subject. Bronco Graveyard sells the whole linkage in one package if you want to go that route as well.

dropped center link

I found an adjustable dropped center link on line for a couple hundred bucks suitable for lifts of 3-4". Bolts right up to your stock stuff.

For a 1977 1/2 ton 4x4? Could you post a link?
Converting to 78/79 style steering is a couple hundred bucks as well.

The 78 & 79 looks like a better setup. I guess if I'm going to spend the money on upgrades I should just change the whole thing. It will be done and over with.
