In My 1996 4x4 f150 5.0 it has the aod. What other years will the trans be the same in? And i read its a electronic aod, would it be only 1995 and 1996 or more years? The door tag says trans code U

 

actually it's not an aod that was an earlier version of the OverDrive tranny. For a 96 only a 96 automatic tranny will work. You can use an earlier model one but you'll have to change the solenoid pack in the tranny first and they're pricey

not too good for you. You can use one out of a 96 4.9. It will work and the 4.9 is the same bolt pattern as the 5.0. It has to be out of a 96 though
