Well so far I'm considering the F2 frame from 59JEEPSTANG, piecing together whatever is missing for the stock front suspension then swap over rear end, engine n such......I would love to build my own frame if i have some good guidelines to follow....but still researching around for my master game plan.....Thanks everyone for all the input and suggestions , It's helped me out a bunch

building a complete frame can be done in the home shop, but it requires expert welding skills (last thing you want is to have a structural weld failure at 65 mph) and a very sturdy frame table to keep everything in line and warp free.

I think you've got a good plan, but keep in mind that the F2 frame will be about 2 feet longer than your existing frame. That's going to mean that you'll either need to shorten the frame in front of the rear axle or find a longer bed. Just something to think about.

On the other hand, that flatbed looks to be longer than an F1 deck. At first glance, it looks like it could be just right for an F2 frame. You may get away with only having to knock off the frame tails to make room for the dump pivots.

F2 wheelbase is 8" longer 122" vs 114". How much longer is the overhang behind the axle? Just thinkin' .........

Shortening the F2 frame to F1 length is a pretty basic frame mod if you have the welding skills to do it safely. Ask how to do it right if you are not 100% sure. Best to measure your current wheelbase and decide if you want to match it or change it, as stated the F2 frame will have a 122" wheelbase and also be longer behind the axle than an F1. F2 beds were longer and wider than F1. The front and rear suspensions are interchangable.

The front and rear suspensions are interchangable.
This is mostly true for the front suspension on the Bonus Built trucks, but not the rear. The F2 and F3 used the same spring mounts and spring width as the F1's in the front with more leaves to beef it up. That part is obviously irrelevant for this poor guy. The rear suspension was completely different on the larger trucks, though. Wider springs, several more leaves, and different spring mounts and shackles. The only thing that stayed the same was the spring perch locations on the axle. Unless he swaps out the entire rear suspension with something else, it'll be necessary to keep the F2 suspension and mod to suit.

I am going to have an extra F2 frame. It will more than likely just have front and rear springs and front axle. The F2 has a longer frame than the F1; however, it is my understanding that the front axle is the same. On the downside there will be nothing else left on the frame ie no steering column etc. I was just going to keep it, do some research and let me know if this possibly may help. Oh and I am located about 40 miles from Orlando in Lady Lake area.

I'd like to talk to you some more about the f2 frame, whats the best way to contact you?
