Interesting revisionist history:
"Stallone needed three '55 F-100's, but they're so rare that we couldn't find them in time," added Friedlinghaus. "So we started with three pretty sad 1956 models and worked 24-7 to make them look like a custom '55. "
Didn't they watch their own TV show? The only thing sad about the 3 56's Stalone provided WCC was the hack job they did on them. I don't know why they didn't use FG repro 56 cabs to replace the FUBARed ones? Practically everything else they did to them was bolt on stuff anyways. The only reason it sold for that price was it's provenance. Only someone who's a Stalone junkie with way too much money and/or someone wanting it for publicity use purposes (Hard Rock Cafe, low grade auto museum, tour it for rent) would pay that much.

I don't quit understand the above statement about 55 F100's being so rare. I would think that it would be much easier to find a slant cab as opposed to a 56. Sure glad I've got one of those rare trucks. Too bad I had to cut it up.

Like I said, revisionist history. In the original build TV program, Stallone provided WCC with 3 56's for the movie, with reality TV's trademark short deadline to build for the movie. WCC proceded to quick chop the tops on all 3 cabs then couldn't refit the windshields. They couldn't figure out how to do it right on a 56 so they replaced the screwed up cabs with 3 slant cabs because their simple windshield shape was easier to refit after a quick chop, nothing to do with rarity. Stallone was not pleased with the model change, but there wasn't enough time to start over.
WCC should stick with what they do best, pimping out celebrity SUV's and such with bolt ons and paint, they were way over their heads on this build.
