Sterling swap?

I have a 1985 F-350 with a Dana 61 rear. I need a new rear end and was considering the Sterling. Is there a certain year that is a "Bolt in" swap? I'm not sure what year to look for.

Or should I just grab a 14 bolt?

Thanks.

Any sterling will be a bolt in. Just get one with the correct gearing. Your truck is an 85 so finding one with ABS won't be an issue since you don't have it. The later (92 and up) will have the longer pinion shaft. But either 1st or 2nd gen of the 10.25 will work just fine in your truck, just keep in mind if you swap in a detroit or ARB ect it will be the differential set up for the 2nd gen longer pinion shaft so you will need to re-gear and swap pinion yoke.

Here's pretty much all the info you'll ever need to know about the Sterling
