Ignition switch actuator installation
1997 F-150 4wd 4.6L V8
This week end I pulled up to my house and tried to turn off my truck. The key would not move from the run position into the off position. After researching I purchased a new ignition lock and key. I strugled to replace it even though directions were simple. I then slid in the new component only to find the same problem. I was told the next component in line was the ignition switch actuator. Its priced at only $10 which is great but can not find any information on replacement proceedure. Any helpful advice is greatly appreciated.

I've had a few Ford steering columns apart but nothing extensive--replaced the lock cylinder and shift tube bushings, pretty easy stuff all in all.
Here's a link to a thread a few days old that might be helpful: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-actuator.html
Best of luck!
