250 Spartan Tune

250 Spartan Tune
I loaded up the 250 friday night and noticed a weird idle when I went inside for a few mins then back out to truck. Like an erratic idle, didnt think to check the rpm fluctuation but thats what it sounded like.
So last night when I did oil change I loaded the 210 and havent noticed it since.
Anyone else notice odd idle with 250?

I have ran all the different tunes, and never noticed any idle issues. Try loading it back in, see if it still idles weird. I noticed that after a certain amount of time, it was good to switch tunes. I think that over time the tranny likes to be reset and starting learning all over. However, right now the tranny must have learned my 275 tune great because the shifting is awesome right now!

Just please inform anyone who is interested that they will need to pay a license fee to Spartan in order to use your turner. Just a heads up, because I have seen some bad transactions go down because of this.
Hey Astamp... how is that 300??? Is it safe on stock tranny? What is the difference between that and the 315? I was told the 315 is not to be used on a stock truck, and I have stuck to that. I am so happy with the 275 and below it's crazy. Right now my truck is running so great... it pulls so hard and runs so clean! I couldn't be happier.

there is a known issue on the spartan tunes in the cold weather that cause fuel rail pressure surge. If you watch the FPR parameter on the dashdaq you will see that it will surge about 200-300psi and almost sound like its loping. Mine will do it on cold mornings if i let it idle for about 5+ minutes. The issue isnt a big deal nor does it hurt the engine. If its bothering you you can email or call spartan and they can look into fixing it for you. Good to see a fellow spartan user!!

I didnt have my screen plugged in so I couldnt check gauges at the time but what you say makes perfect sense. Il probably keep it on the 210 for winter anyways, not like I can get any traction this time of year.

I used to run the 250 as my daily driver and kylebryan is right on. It doesnt like cold weather startup. Having the truck plugged in seemed to help. But the first few minutes of idle are always rough. Ive been running the 300 tune and it seems to do better in the cold although like you Im going to run the 210 for the rest of winter. I wouldnt worry about your truck for having to replace the hpfr.
