Engine Ticking Noise

On several weeks my F250 with the 5.4 has made a ticking noise that appears to be coming from the right side of the engine. I started it up this morning and sound was still there but more faint. Any suggestions.

Maybe a lifter sticking? How many miles? Does the ticking sound like it's on the upper or lower part of the motor?
