Can anyone tell if they made changes in the 5.4 from 1999-2003

 

Hopefully someone will post on here with better accuracy on the years that things changed, but....

I think the 1999 5.4's had 235HP and they got bumped up to 260HP in the other years.

Another change is that some of the earlier ones had problems with spark plugs blowing out. If memory serves, around 2002 they upgraded the heads to have more threads for the plugs to fix this.

Also, note that the 2V 5.4L engines were used up through the 2004 model year.

The later ones had better Pi heads, and the earlier ones had the better rams horn y pipes.
