I couldn't find the 2004 Ford F-250 service manual, only the owner's guide and sundry other unrelated manuals. What am I missing?? Thanks...

 

Pappy, your not missing anything, the service manual isn't provided there. It's a separate publication that doesn't come very cheap. In the past, I was able to find maintenance manuals at an AF Base library. Probably doesn't help you any, but you never know.

I've been pretty happy with ALLDATAdiy.com :: Leading Source of Diagnostic and Repair Information

They are the factory service manuals, with updated TSB, search, etc. They aren't always perfect and sometimes it can be hard to find exactly what you're looking for.

It is subscription based, but the subscriptions are around $20 or less per year.

 

Thank you for the info. They must use pretty expensive ink and paper for those manuals!! Getting a manual is going to lighten my wallet!!

There are also CD versions of the manuals that are a lot cheaper. They are less convenient for hauling out to the truck when you are working, but some stuff is hyperlinked so you can click on a connector, for example, and see the pin-out and location of the connector.

Note that Specialtools also is selling off Ford tools from a closed dealership. Both he and Nicmike are good guys to work with. (from the referenced thread)

 

Check the fte classifieds. There is a fella got pallets of ford manuals. Nicmike. I bought all the manuals for my ex. Might be out of the 04 books though. Good luck.
