I am new to the forum so if I ask a repeated question please bear with me. I just purchased a 2007 expedition xlt el 4x2 and would like to put some beefier tires on it. I currently have 275/70/17 and would like to go to a 285/65/18 (all terrain tire), but have been told it will rub. This configuration will increase the diameter about .25 inch and the width less than .5 inch. which doesn't seem like much. Any input would greatly help. If anyone has pictures out there please send them. Thanks

WHEELS AND TIRES
XLT:
265/70R17 All Season tires 17 inch painted aluminum wheels
265/70R17 All Terrain tires 17 inch machined aluminum wheels
Eddie Bauer:
265/70R17 All Season tires 17 inch aluminum wheels
255/70R18 All Season tires 18 inch machined aluminum wheels
Limited:
255/70R18 All Season 18 inch machined aluminum wheels
275/55R20 All Season 20 inch chrome clad aluminum wheels
I'm running a 275/60R20 on my 07 Limited EL without any issues at all. They're not even close to rubbing on anything and they're significantly larger than the 255/70R18 Crapellis that came off. mine is 4x4 but the 4x2 and 4x4 models are the same ride height so it shouldn't matter. I'm guessing you could get away with it without any issues.
