Where's my fuel filter?

So I've searched the threads here and on the expedition forum and nobody seems to have had to change a fuel filter on a 2010 as yet. We've hit a bit over 36k miles so far and I'm thinking that it's time to try changing the fuel filter to address the difficulties we've been having starting the truck in the am that I wrote about earlier.

Everyone seems to be saying that for all the pre-2010 models the filter is mounted basically under the drivers seat, inside edge of the left frame rail, just forward of the fuel tank.

Well, if what I'm looking at is the fuel filter, it's in a fairly large, heavy box with an electrical connection going to it. With the electrical connection, I'm wondering if its the fuel pump. There are a few lines going to it with those funny sliding clips (mine are gray, not blue) but they're difficult to access. They need to be accessed from the top which I can't get to because they nearly touch the floorboard.

Hmmm...

According to the Owners Manual for my 2010, page 385:

Hopes this helps.

Great! I guess it's off to the dealer then.

Thanks for the info.

You are welcome. Be sure to post up what the dealer finds as the problem.

Also ask the dealer how long a "lifetime fuel filter" lasts.
