Any one using a progammer?

I believe this is part of the reason F-450 pickups lost their 14,000 lb GVWR for 2011; the emissions requirements change at 14,000 lbs. Thus the F-450 falls under the same category as the F-350s.

I am resurrecting the thread as I am also interested. I only see a few folks with tuners, looks like their using H&S. However, i am interested in SCT, had good luck with it in the past on my 6.0 using custom tunes. I spoke to Eric at Innovative, here is a recap of our conversation:
"Eric,
I have recently purchased a 2012 F250 6.7 Powerstroke. Are you offering tuning for this engine at this time? I was VERY PLEASED with the tunes you hooked me up with on my 6.0. If you are offering tunes, i am very interested in getting setup. At this time i prefer to leave the emission junk intact due to possible warranty issues. What tunes are available and safe to use? In short, i am looking for as much additional HP that i can safely use without altering the DPF/emission junk.
From Eric,
We have the best DPF On tunes out there. Your list of criteria is exactly what I'd recommend. I'd go with our SCT 3067 X3 with the Xtreme, Street, and Tow. All the tunes are very safe and you'll find the best mileage on the Xtreme. The Xtreme isn't all that Xtreme, since we tune for DPF on. Stock you are 330rwhp, tuned you'll be at 430-440rwhp. It's very safe and great mileage."
I do not have any experience with H&S, but i know SCT has been very very successful tuning the 7.3, 6.0, & 6.4.
I do think these trucks do run great as is!!!! Just the thought of another 100HP give me chill bumps...
Thoughts/Opinions - Thanks

H&S deleted tunes. Tuning with the DPF on is only going to plug up the filter pretty fast and be in active regen all the time. Combine that with the filter needing replaced much sooner and it doesn't seem to be worth the headache. Have you priced a new DPF?? Be setting down when you look up the prices.
Delete the emissions and enjoy your truck. Your warranty is GONE either way.
Call H&S and ask them some questions. They're very helpful.

The engine shutting down due to an empty DEF tank or any other number of emmisions related stuff is insane. Ford should have left us a plan B and if tuning had any benefit, the ability to overide sensor inputs would be the most important to me. My 6.0 had SCT custom tunes and was a dog until I tuned it. I loved Matts heavy tow and ASE tunes and the truck ran....sang would be the word. I have the feeling after my warranty is gone I may relieve the truck of its emissions junk. Gubment requirements I am sure, drive Ford crazy and the engineers would strip the emissions stuff off faster than we would if they could. I cant see how someone would think these trucks are dogs, what are comparing them to? When I pass some one the kids are squealing with delight and moms face goes white, thing hauls a$$....compared to old F series. And towing, well the new truck tows way better than my 6.0 with the heavy tow tune installed, which was good...but now is very good. Maybe I would want to tune a new 450 if I drove a SRW 6.7 250 and noticed some big diff. Still, I do appriciate the clean tailpipe, amazing how clean it is, cleaner than my neighbors new subaru. Still get ugly looks from libs driving death trap green cars. They all hate us and our trucks for living free to live how we want. Deleting and tuning might just cause one of them to severely hurt somebody. Stepping down off Soapbox

All cab & chassis models and even the 450 pickup have the 300 hp tune and a different turbo from the pickups. The MP-8 should help you a little, but you aren't going to see anywhere near a 100 hp gain. Most trucks are seeing less than a 50 hp rear wheel gain with the MP-8.
Also, the 4.30 gear may help you tow a load better, but it's not going to make the acceleration feel any better than a 3.55 geared SRW truck even on equal tuning. These trucks don't have near the usable rpm range that the 6.0 has and the 4.30 gear only makes you hit the wall that much sooner. In other words, the gear is going to keep the engine out of it's peak performance range during acceleration, but on the other hand, it helps keep the rpm right where it needs to be for heavy towing.

One of the bigger reasons I tuned so early. Shoving exhaust into the intake seems insane for a diesel. 1 or 2 winters and your intake is packed full of soot which is almost impossible to clean out, without complete dis assembly of the intake system. I choose to delete the EGR to begin with. Problem solved.
One thing that really shocked me was the amount of soot build up in the EGR after 4500 miles. I figured there would be a little, no it was a pretty thick build up everywhere. I can only imagine what it would look like at 100,000 miles.

I might peek in there Andrew. Where exactly are the 4 or 5 bolts? I read it somewhere. Is it the up tube and is it on top of the motor or behind?
I sure wish I had $2,000 to blow. Mini Maxx would be on the way. I'm scared to do it because I might only have this truck one more year. I really want a 350SRW.
