You could plug the intake... that would work!

Only kidding, don't do that. Are you running the stock 90cc injectors? if so, you're not going to get that much smoke out of them. I had a TW 6-position chip and with an intake and exhaust and the chip set to "smoke" It would only roll a bit of coal.

Save some $. Get some gauges, then maybe a DIY injector kit and a chip. That'll get you in the right direction

Your gonna need to get some bigger injectors, stock injectors wont smoke. But before that you will need intake, exhaust and gauges.

now i see why people can get annoyed when thoes ask how to roll coal.
coming to a forum asking to just roll it will get you bad juju lol
asking to roll it is a waist of fuel and power. black smoke is a lack of air in the combustion cycle, less air more smoke, more smoke less power. if you really want to roll it start saving your pennies and drop about 1700+ into injectors and a good chip. but big injectors need big oil, and a fuel system, turbo, intake, exhaust, intercooler yata yata list goes on

if you want to blow a little smoke for about 3 seconds untill your turbo lites and cleans it up, get a good custom chip. Dp, tony wildman, php, matts

whats really impressive is asking for big power and NO smoke, once you have smoke you dont want it, yeah i guess its cool to throw it for your buddies leaving the shop or haning at a party but when you can actually roll it you start to do dumb things with it that get us diesel guys a bad rep, blacking out intersections, smoking cars or inocent people. only time i really find smoke usfull is when you have that one jerk thats litterally inches from your bumper and is driving to endanger. blacking him out will give him a message. but thats on a very rare occasion.

What do you use your truck for? what are your plans for the truck? How much you willing to spend? Those are the questions that will drive your decision. Then call Jim at Rosewood Diesel. Talk to him. I bet he will ask the same questions....

The 6, 55Watt halogen bulbs I have wired to a switch and all facing rearward will also achieve the same result... and at a fraction of the price!

its a 1997 crew cab 2wd dually with a 9 foot flatbed on it. i basicall want it to be a pulling horse. i want to be able to pull anything i want without question. i already have an aftermarket downpipe, then strait pipe out the back 5 inch. and a full tymar intake. it added power but i want more. but i also like u guys said roll coal for the partys and the buddies once in a while.i am looking into an Edge Evolution CTS programmer..... good or bad? or what do you guys think i should get next? i used to have an 85 f350 with a 460 pushing almost 700 horse and i want this truck to pull more than that one did.

edge,superchip,diablo...junk!!! custom chips.

not sure if you said what tranny you have but if you have an e4od auto then your very limited to what kind of power you can throw at it until you build it up something good. there anything but stout trannys. the 5spd can hold250+ hp over stock with the right clutch and driver

700hp 460 huh? any videos? curious, must have gotten a gallon per mile hahah

our injectors stock can add no more than 80hp at the wheel. for a dmax or a 6.4 powertstroke then they can add that much hp at the wheels but not for our dinosaurs

i just like the CTS cuz its touch screen and its got all the guages on it. and yes the 460 dyno'd at about 689hp and 768ftlbs.well it was a 460 stroked to a 514. im 20 years old and all ive done since i was 16 is build gas motors. it had a lunati bracket master cam, john kasse super cobra jet heads from ford racing 12.5/1 compression, victor intake, eagle forged bottom end and H-beam rods, and a 850 mighty demon on top i loved that truck but once i got it done a month later it saw its way to a deep ditch. and sadly no i do not have any videos of the truck or pics. i would be embarrassed of the pics if i did cuz me n dad never got to the body part of the project

If your gonna get bigger injectors, and have the money. I would get the injectors and chip at the same time. So you won't have to send the chip back to get it reprogrammed for bigger injectors. I wouldn't go with anything else other than custom tuning... TW, DP, or PHP Tunes. Our trucks don't do to well with Edge tuning, and I bet they will do even worse with bigger injectors.
