Has anyone cut off the front bumper and filled in the nerfbar holes?

Has anyone cut off the front bumper and filled in the nerfbar holes?
Lookin' at the '51 Merc I was thinking it might look kinda' sharp.I got an extra front sheetmetal piece from a '52 ford that I would fill/ use and save the Merc one.
