The title says it all. I'll be ready for a new truck in 2012 or 2013. With no Ranger I'll probably go with the Frontier.

But who knows? Maybe Ford will change its mind about letting the "global" model sell in the U.S. by that time.

I buy only American. Probably anew F150 with the new engine line up more fuel efficent than the Ranger.

 

I have no idea. My 2000 has 150,000 and I plan driving it for another 150,000. I'll let you know in 11 years or so

 

At 400,000 miles I still have not worn out my 84.........I am not too worried.

Besides, the Ranger is among the most reliable small pickup trucks. They will be around for a while. Ford needs to get a clue though. I and many others have no interest in a bigger Ranger, it defeats the whole point. And the F150 does not replace the Ranger, even with the new engine lineup, the highway fuel mileage of the new V6 isn't as good as the average mixed mileage of the 2.3L.

 

At 108,000 I feel my 2003 is just broken in. I'm keeping it.

Maybe if enough people keep fixing and driving Rangers they could develop a cult following like the Jeep CJ's/Wranglers have.

 

I like my 2000, w/ 135k and still goin strong. Hopefully it'll last until ford sees the light and realizes that not everyone wants to drive a F150.

 

I agree...If I wanted a full size truck I would've bought one by now

 

my 99 has 180k needs a trans but i figure ill get a rebuilt one an be good for another 150k an hopefully by then ford will figure it out an come out with a ranger of the same size, i would just like new engine, trans, an front suspension

 

buy low and sell high. Plenty of cheap good rangers around right now, future is that there will be less and less of them.
