Good bye 07 Hello 2011

Traded my 07 Eddie Bauer EL last night for a 2011 EL Limited. Could not pass up 0% for 60 months.

Only thing it does not have is the DVD in the head rest. We hardly ever used the overhead DVD in the 07. The Sync system seems to be pretty sweet from the brief demo late last night. Will have to do some reading and research to figure out the rest of the features. Nav with traffice alerts and weather looks cool too. Sync-ed my wife's phone (because this is her car) and all contacts came over in a few seconds. The bluetooth calling works great too.
Got 2nd row buckets this time. They come heated too. You also have a 110v power plug rated at 150 watts.
Fob is now part of the key head but with remote start you get a little FOB that you press and hold for a few second to start it up.
No gas cap. We will see how this feature works.
No more air ride either. I think this wil be a plus. Seems to sit up a little higher and a lot smoother ride than the 07.
More to come once I get some time with it.

Congrats on the new purchase. I really like the gas cap setup. I have never had a problem with it and it is nice to have to worry about touching the cap anymore.

Sad to loose an 07 brother, but your upgrade (or should I say your wife's upgrade) sounds really awesome. One of my biggest complaints with my 07 is with the nav system. It really is kinda cheap and doesn't work all that well compared even to google maps. You'll ahve to let us know how well the newer GPS systems work.

I have not had much time to play with it. I am told the nav maps are now on a hard drive. It will be interesting to see how updates are done. I know on the old system it was on a DVD and was able to find the 7p and 8p maps on the net.
One thing that I do really like is being able to plug in a USB drive with music and the use the sync system to play it. All you have to do is press the voice button on the steering wheel and say play and the artist name. Then BAM. That artist is playing.
Sirus radio quality still sucks. Some channels sound great while other sound like they are playing out of a tin can.
The gas prices, movie theater, sport scores, and weather update are cool too but I think you have to subscribe (pay) for those services down the road.
Dealer just listed my old 07 on their site for 6k above what they paid me for it. OUCH!!
