Question take the lift and 35's off?

hi i have a 1994 ford f150 extended cab short bed 4.9 5spd currently it has 35's and a 3 in body lift and stock gears and in a few months it will be needing new tires and i was thinking about taking the 35's off and replacing them wit 30's, and possibly taking the body lift out. seeing as im not a serious off roader the body lift is unnessary. any suggestions or ideas?

Yeah if you go from 35s to 30s , get rid of the lift , and you will get your gear ratio back....Lew

if you dont want the bodylift, then ditch it. hell its safer without it anyways. if i was you i would put some 31's on it however.

eh...well i have the straight six, so gas mileage has never been good. if i stay off the gas, the best combined highway and city i have been able to get has been rite at 18mpg, but with the way i drive, i usually get around 14-15mpg. as far as performance goes, it feels the same as when i had the factory size on honestly.

Yup, 31x10.50s will be much friendlier to your 300. You'll swear you regeared the truck going from 35's to 31's.

Ditching the body lift is a wonderful idea. They really shouldn't even sell those things. For one thing, they look tacky, and for another they're not safe. I've seen plenty of factory bolts shear off in wrecks, and those cheap china bolts they sell with body lifts aren't near the bolts that the factory bolts are.

Thats a great idea. I would go with 31 10.50 tires though. But thats just me. The 30 9.50 tires will be good too.

You can get the body mount bolts from NPD or LMC if you can't get them from Ford.

I have 31 10.50 with stock suspension.

You truck will feel like it's powered by a big block when you take those 35 inch tires off. I would just put factory sized tires on it. You'll see anywhere from 15 to 18 mpg highway and have loads of power.
