whats the difference in iprs

whats the difference between 94 and early 95 and 95 and later ipr valves? i was told there was a production break. can they b interchanged?

One has a little filter on the end, the older one I think and one doesn't. They are not interchangeable. I tried. Ended up rebuilding mine. If you do this then take it completely apart. You'd be amazed at the crap that gets stuck in there. Also that inner tube that is threaded in was backed part way out on mine.

so u just got the oring kit and rebuilt urs?

yeah. It was super easy. NOT worth the money to buy a new one! Just lay out the innards on a clean paper towel so you know the order of it all going back together. Some brake clean will blast out any trash in it once it's apart. Also another problem I found with mine was that little piston inside, or whatever it's called was real sticky. The hole drilled for it was real rough like they had a broken drill bit on the lathe that made it. I put it in my lathe and ran a new drill into it to clean it up. It works perfect now. Just check yours for sticking. When it's dry you should hear that piston rattle back and forth once it's assembled.

Just curious, do you remember what is the drill size you used to?

I really can't remember. I just mic'd the pin and went a half thou over that. I got every drill bit known to man up to an inch and a half here.
