Carrier Bearing Bushing

Gents forgive my ignorance on this but can you replace only the rubber bushing of the carrier bearing or does it come all as 1 piece. My understanding I would have to press off the bearing and was just trying to avoid this if possible? Thanks Maxx

It's the whole thing. And aftermarket ones SUCK! I just put one on from Oreilleys and the shields didn't fit it. Not like the original ones did anyway. The instructions said to pack it with grease to keep dirt out of the OPEN bearing! It better last. I'm about fed up with crap from them not lasting. All parts stores are like this though, It's not just them.

they are all the same bearing, its a poor design.

To much grease and it will go everywhere though.

An open bearing? I got one off the shelf from NAPA and it was a closed bearing. That was roughly 30k ago and no problems.

The reason I was asking about the rubber being seperate from the bearing is because on the NAPA website they show a "driveshaft center support rubber" for $4.99. I just assumed when I seperated the shafts I could pull the old rubber off the bearing and push this new rubber in its place? The NAPA part number was BK 6021050. The bearing itself is fine I was just trying to save myself going to the driveline shop and get the bearing pressed off. Was hoping just to put new rubber in there? Maxx
