Bellhousing block plate.

I am putting together the parts for the 460 I am putting in the 73 truck. It is an 1986 460 and I am going to buy a flex plate because it was not with the engine. But I also recall someone saying something about a block plate. Is that a part I can just order with the flex plate or is it a junkyard item.

Thanks

You can order them for about $70. You can find them in a junkyard but they are in a pisser location to get to unless you just get lucky and find one laying around. I had a link until I deleted it about two weeks ago. Just google 460 block off plate. The price should be $70. It won't look exactly like the factory one. It will be more solid, meaning less spaces cut into it. It is to keep your engine safe in the event your tranny pukes and vise versa.

One from a 351M-400 will work too. You just have to cut the cranks hole out a little bigger in it.

I have been looking on the web for the blocking plate but have had no luck. I found the flex plate and ordered the plate but the same company did not have the blocking plate. Does anyone have a site or an address for the blocking plate.

Thanks in advance.

Try this: KMJ Performance :: Bellhousings :: Bellhousing Accessories :: 460 Big Block Ford Engine Plate

I used this search: RM-8005 460 Big Block Ford Engine Plate
