Hi everyone, I'm knew to this forum. I have a 97 f250 powerstroke disel, with about 200,000 miles. The truck works fine, but recently I have notice that whenever I shift to reverse, I have to wait about 2secons for the reverse gear to kick-in. Transmission fluid is fine. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
Mine you have to wait the 2 seconds or so and its been rebuilt. I wasn't 2 miles away from the trans shop when I called them complaining about it. He said that they forgot to drill some hole out bigger to allow more pressure, ya, ya ya. Common to Ford's.
Mine is at least two seconds. I'm now in the habit of throwing it into reverse before I even come to a stop to get it ready to move backwards. I hate it!!
That's normal for these transmissions. The valve body can be modified to speed up the reverse engagement. Don't ask me for details, it's been too many years to be able to remember them.
Awwww Mark, Its only been three years according to your signature! LOL OK, back to earth, I was thinking about a RacerX value body like what Darin did, would that help?
