Repop hood for a '54

Has anyone bought one of the steel repop hoods for the '53 - '56 F-100's? I need a hood and I may have to resort to a repop. Not having much luck finding a replacement in my part of the country (South Mississippi). Any info on what you think of the fit or so forth would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve

I saw one at the last F100 Western Nationals...looked good sitting on the table but I can't vouch for how it fits.

Have you tried Craigslist? I see them every now and then, usually rather cheap. Post a want ad, you'll find more.

And look around, might find one pretty much free and the shipping will still land you on top of the price of a new one.

Steve I have one I just havent installed it yet. From what I hear the fit is pretty good. Mine will be going on an ALL REPOP sheetmetal front end. So I expect some tweaking to be necessary. How good of a used hood are you looking for? I know of 4 sources that might have one but the shape might or might not be what you desire. PM me and I will share them with ya

Hey Donald, when you start fitting all that repopped sheet metal be sure to set up a gallery if you don't mind. I was thinking of going the same route when the time comes to do my pickup. It will be good to see how everthing fits and what one will have to watch out for.

Your front fenders and gravel pan is original type or aftermarket repop?

I have a repo hood on my 53, they fit pretty good and not much tweaking is needed to get the gaps even.
