What would you change?
OK, these trucks are entering their third year of production. For those of you who bought a 2009 / 2010 F-150 of any ilk, what would you change about the truck?
I mean anything.
Discussion?
On the tailgate, I would like to see a chrome or polished aluminum strip in the middle of the tailgate crease to connect the Ford oval. This would be in keeping with the styling on the new Taurus, and i think it looks sharp.
I would like to see different interior color options.
I would like to see an e-locking axle to be made available on any 4x2 truck.

I agree on the auto up and down on the windows. Had that on my wifes car and it was pretty nice.
I also would like to have a air locker on the rear for a 4x2. Great for pulling out on a wet boat ramp.
I also would like to see Ford give more options on power and performance. The mustangs now have a key fob you can buy and program to the car. It changes all of the settings for more performance. Like buying a tuner from Ford, and maintaining your warranty. Would be great to have that for a pickup.
I realize that in the world of mass production, one size pretty much has to fit all, but wouldn't it be great if you could go to the dealer and have a factory performance intake, exhaust, and a performance tune all installed right there? All with the factory warranty!
I like the body work pretty much the way it is. Not much on extra trim that catches dirt and causes rust. I use to be big on the chrome, but not so much now days.
I would like to have a couple of small lights mounted on the inside of the bed, back toward the tail gate. Would be nice when you have a cover on. At night I can't see in the back of my truck because the cover blocks the light on the back of the cab.

I have an 09 and I don't care for the headrests. They just arent comfortable for me or my wife. I also would get rid of that capless fuel filler. I drive alot on dirt/gravel roads and the inside of the filler area is always full of dust. I know there probably isn't alot that gets washed in when you fill up, but over several thousands of miles, I think it would eventually cause problems with its "lifetime" fuel filter. Another thing I would rather not have. Why not just have a "lifetime" filter on the frame rail you can change if need be? I also would rather just have an old fashioned transmission dip stick. Has anyone ever tried checking the transmission oil?? Its really not that fun with the hot exhaust right next to your hand while under the vehicle trying to get at that stubby, lil dipstick. Other than that, I love everything about the pickup. It gets great mileage and does what I need it to do. The new six speed transmission just makes these pickups awesome. Just my two cents...

Upfitters. I'd like some frikken upfitter switches (it's unfortunate that only the raptor gets those)
LED or HID headlights as an option, please give us a legal solution to better lighting!
The reverse lights... they need to illuminate more. When it's wet and your reversing on black asphalt, it's pretty hard to see what's illuminated, I'd expect a bit more than what's put out lumen wise with the stock tail lights.
The mini-stroke needs to be brought back. I'd love to have this in my F150, and it'd be great as an entry level motor in the super duty, or as an option on expeditions and explorers. Or maybe shoe horn it into a mustang just for the hell of it .
I also second the locker on the rear axle, they can sell it as an FX2 Pre-Runner or something like that. Otherwise, it seems like they addressed just about all the other deficiencies with the 2011's rolling out.

1) Reverse lights stink, esp with tinted rear window
2) Auto up/down on all windows, at LEAST auto up on the drivers
3) One more storage compartment. I drove a Tundra and that thing has storage all over
4) Option to have gauge lights on
5) On the Screw those holes in the top of the bed to tie down stuff
6) AC power outlet

I would like smaller seats, like the ones in Explorers, Escapes, Mustangs, etc. I'm only 5'6" and fit well in the smaller Fords. But in Expeditions and F150s the seats are borderline uncomfortable. For me to have my lower back supported against the back rest, the back of my knees have to be right up against forward edge of the seat. I guess Ford just assumes bigger people for the bigger vehicles.
