1962 ford grille

Has anyone polished a 62 grille? I came across a 62 aluminum grille which was very straight. I took it to the shop for polishing. This is one of the hardest grilles to polish due to lack of support on the long areas. Unlike 61 63 64 65 66 grilles, there is not much support. This was a challenge, the result's? One beautiful grille.

Wish I could afford to purchase one from you Gangster! We don't have the access to any good grille's around my part; most dented and rusted!

Hopefully next year will be better for all of us. Keep me in mind when you need one. I'll work with you.

Very nice looking job. I know it is very time consuming as I once tackled polishing a 66 grille. For some reason I thought the 62 grilles were all chromed steel. Im interested in a 61 grille in case you have one.

I have only ever had to just wax mine on the truck. Never seemed to have any weak spots.

Mounted on a truck there are no weak spots as there are 15 mounting tabs. When polishing on a big polisher your holding the grille applying gentle preasure if not carefull you can warp it. There are only two upper and lower facial braces holding the center horizontal area. The horizontal bars can get real flimsy and twist real easy.

The grill on my 65 is aluminum. How did you get it to shine like that?

That's what I always thought. I wanted to swap a 62 grille on my 63 when I had it. I didn't bother because it looked like too much work at the time.
