New 78 bronco (pics updated)
I have been admiring a local 78 bronco all summer the guy was not willing to sell then. Going down the highway last friday it was sitting on the side of the road for sale slammed on the brakes u turn and finally got to see it and drive it on sunday bc of Thanksgiving wknd. After a lot of scrouging around for cash the deal was finally done and I owned it as of Tuesday night. There is only one small rust spot about the size of the top of a pop can around the fender well. It is in very nice shape and the 351 m runs good. Ill get some pics up tomorrow. A few questions here we good.
-I have a 90 351efi w AOD will this be an easy swap or will this not gain me any fuel economy. The previous owner said it gets 10 mpg. I wood be thrilled with 15-18 or more.
-It is also fulltime 4x4 any specific transfer case I need to look for so I can have the option to kick it in or out or just rob one from a dent?
-As a lame as it sounds I really like the Das Bronco paint scheme from Trucks does anyone know how that was done paint or stickers etc.
Thanks

Way to go on the New to you Bronco. I also have a 78 and have lots of fun with it. It is a rust bucket, but runs great.
I don't have the answer on the full time 4x4. You may also want to decide if you are going to do the engine/tranny swap before looking at a different transfer.
Does it have lock outs on the front wheels? If not, you could add those.
My Bronco had a 400/C6 with a 203 transfer when I got it. The engine was bad and I found a 400/C6 with a 205 transfer that I swapped in to replace the 203 and old engine and transmission. The 205 is supposed to be stronger as it is gear driven. The low gearing isn't quit as low in the 205 as in the 203 from what I have been told. Some day if I get the money I'll buy an adapter and mount the 203 range box in front of the 205 and have a "doubler".
