brake pessure in psi for 96 250
Actually I have a 91 dana 60 in it but front brakes are really working well. New calipers and pads no difference. I'm Going to check how much pressure is going into front and rear calipers and cylinders. Anyone know the psi spec for those pressures? The rears aren't to tight because the tires spin pretty freely with just a little drag. But when braking the rears lock up way before the fronts. Didn't do it with the ttb 50. Thanks.

Is this a when you first start driving every day or an all day thing?
My 97 has very touchy rear brakes for the first couple stops every day.
After the first couple stops, everything is good for the rest of the day.
Calipers and pads should be the same parts, 50 or 60.
So that should not affect anything.

I guess I'd make sure all the hoses are in good shape or if they haven't been replaced replace them. Bleed the system (RABS too) and go from there. I suppose the master cylinder could be suspect. The rear cylinders may be sticking. The parking brake cable being hosed up could cause a problem too. Does the pedal have an overly hard or soft feel?

You have an abs problem too if the rears are locking. Check the cam levers for teh parking brakes in the back. They need to be all the way back almost touching the edge of the backing plate. If not that will do this and you need new cables. AND/OR take the anchor stud apart at the top and grease it up. Sometimes that cam up there gets jammed on top of the brake shoe when they get rusted instead of pushing them out from the end and releasing.

I have the rabs bypassed which has been that way for over a year when the dana 50 was there and never had it act like this. The 60 sat for a few months and had surface rust on the disks so took some sand paper to them and figured the pads would do the rest. I now have new pads and calipers but same problem. The disks still feel pretty smooth so I might pull them and have them resurfaced. I may hook the rabs back up also.
