Sounds like the EGR set up.
Stay tuned, you might get another post.
Something like so?

I should mention that this is a carburated 460,this pipe is separate from the egr baseplate and pcv hoses,It is part of the air emissions system,it has a "check valve" (I use to call them an antibackfire valve)mounted in the piping which is joined by a short hose to another vacumn operated valve which connects to the aircleaner.Am I helping? Thanks

Are you talking about the exhaust gas crossover at the back of the cylinder heads?

This is like a Y pipe that comes up in front of the oil pressure sender???

GP-Sorensen 779-5372 Air Injection Reactor Pipe (crossover)
I found it on AutoZone's website under internal engine parts.
It's the first part listed (alphabetically)
Welcome to the forum region2!
I hope this helps!

I having the same problem
I have a 93 Ford SD with a 460 (automatic trans) and I can't find the pipe going from the driver side manifold to the smog pump hose.
I just replaced the manifold and there is 2 pipes going out. One goes to the EGR valve and the other one goes across the motor (between the motor and the firewall) and plugs into a hose.
Do somebody have idea what I'm talking about ?

NO! PCV stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation and sucks air through of the crankcase sucking out oil fumes, etc. Nothing to do with the exhaust. I agree with the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) or the air injection system. In either case I would look for a way to get rid of it but the EFI makes that difficult.
