ECT/ACT location...4.9L

I have looked, and looked, and looked, but for the life of me i cannot find the ECT sensor location.....

i have found ACT (Upper intake behind Alternator Kinda)

But i have found what i THINK is the ECT, but there is no wire going to it, just a rubber hose going into cab???? is that is next to TSTAT? it does not seem liek a sensor... and the plug i have no idea what it is for, it ran fine without it for 4 days....

that is the connector and where that hose is at is where the sensor should be. i would order a new thermostat housing and sensor. your truck will run alot better and get better gas mileage once it can tell its up to operating temps. right now your computer is most likely seeing that its still in Cold warm up mode which will make it run rich. hope this helps

ECT = Engine Coolant Temperature
ACT = Air Charge Temperature

ACT is for mass air trucks only, isn't it?

I know I am reaching deep but I just found this post and it exactly explains my problem with my 92 4.9... Previous owner deleted the etc sensor tube and truck floods at start up occasionally, smells rich, and poor gas mileage 12 mpg.
Original poster did not update but I will after I locate a t-stat housing and reset system ... Hope this helps someone else down the road!
