Mobil 1 synthetic oil change intervals

Just curious, my truck is 07 with the 5.4. I put mobil 1 synthetic and a motorcraft filter. This was 5000 km ago. About 3000 miles. Just unclear when to do it again.

Consult your owners manual. It states starting in 2007 7,500 miles normal service.

Personally, I'm going to be changing my synthetic somewhere between 5&6k. My driving is 90% city, stop and go, short trips right now and although it's more costly, etc etc, I feel better about it.
It's actually going in to the shop in about 1.5 hours for its first full checkup since I've had it. (Oil change, check the fluids in diffs, trans, transfer case, rotate balance)

I used either Mobil 1 or Pennzoil Plat. in both of my trucks and change both at 5000 miles. It makes it easy to remember, and tires are rotated at the same time.

I go 5000 miles, I figure it offsets the higher price of the oil if I can run it longer.

I don't want to sound negative here, but I don't think anybody makes an oil filter that will absolutely filter up to 10,000 miles. Let alone 7,000. I would say 4-5000 max. No matter what the owner's manual says! jmo

I, too, don't want to sound negative.

What facts do you have to support this? Have you done more testing than the manufacturer? 'Cause they warrant these engines to 60,000 miles, and have a lot to loose if their maintenance schedule causes engine damage.

Is there something I'm not seeing here?

Well,60,000 miles is a drop in the bucket, for engine mileage. I'm hoping for 200,000 miles on mine.

Synthetics will go longer than 7500 miles given normal conditions. I would think the filter is the limiting reagent in the equation. Its a paper filter afterall. I've been using Pennzoil Platinum for a couple years and I change around 7500 miles because I fear the filter.

These pics are from a FL-820S with 3000 miles on it...looks pretty good (got these from bobstheoilguy website).

I run Mobil1 synthetic and I change it every 10K miles and I change filters every 5K. So, my oil change kit includes 8 qts of oil and two filters. 6 qts of oil for the initial change, 1 qt to make up for the loss during filter change and a spare qt.

Now, the engines on the 2011 F-150's are all set up for 10,000 miles oil change intervals as per Ford Motor Company. Granted, these engines all have 8 qt sumps but that's 10K on one filter.
