Not really any cons to having an IC other than slightly more turbo lag, but it's not enough to even think about. Just make sure you get an EARLY '99 intake spyder and the boots for the intake plenums that neck down to 2".

Anything to help EGT's is a plus. An inter-cooler helps with EGT spikes when gassing it

Thanks,
Depends on the IC. I paid $100 for my SD IC, pipes, and boots. A 6.0 IC's probably will cost you more. A few members here got there IC from ebay for, i think, $300 just for the IC, could be wrong though

here you go, i followed this down to the very T, i modded a set of intercooler pipes off an 03 superduty but his come out the same. peicing together all the piping was more expensive than the superduty pipes

Looks like a pretty intense Mod.

If/when you decide to put an IC in your truck, be ready to spend some time on it for sure. Mine took me 2 days to get the IC installed and another day modding the pipes to work. Of course I wasn't in a huge hurry, but I did have to get it done in a weekend b/c I needed my truck to go to work so I got the IC mounted up one weekend and capped off the ports so nothing got in them, then ran the truck that week w/out the IC hooked up and modded the pipes the next weekend and got it hooked up. It's not a hard task, just time consuming.

Here's my IC write up. It's simple and inexpensive if you can weld
